"I joined Zonta because of all the amazing things we do for our community--right here in Savannah

AND for women internationally. I love that we're active and that I get to do this with members

that I think are absolutely phenomenal. The opportunity to travel all over the world and meet

other like-minded women is a huge bonus! We're not 'ladies who lunch', we're 'ladies who DO'

and I can't think of a better organization to give my time and effort to!!!"

Jessica Ghormley is the Chief Executive Officer of Athena Consulting, Inc., an international consulting firm that primarily does business in Australia, New Zealand, England, Ireland, Canada, and the United States of America and is currently comprised of over 45 full time consultants, over 100 independent contractors, and three administrative staff. As a founding member of Savannah Working Against Human Trafficking (SWAHT), past Vice President and immediate past President, she continues her support and membership in SWAHT. Staying busy, Jessica is also on the Leadership Committee for Start Up Chicks Savannah, an organization for women entrepreneurs providing mentoring in all stages of business. She also serves on the Executive Board of the Rape Crisis Center of the Coastal Empire.

Jessica grew up in the Somerset Hills Area of New Jersey (Horse Country) and still has family there. She moved to Massachusetts to attend Clark University as the number one ranked incoming freshman where she earned a dual degree in Political Science and Psychology with secondary concentrations in Business Administration and Marketing. She is continuing her education by pursuing a masters in Business Ethics.

Jessica was introduced to the Zonta Club of Savannah through the Inaugural Fudge Scrabble® Tournament. At the Second Annual Fudge Scrabble® Tournament she took First Place, won Most Valuable Fudger, won one of four Bonus Words, as well as a lovely door prize. She also learned more about Zonta. She attended the next event, the Spring Auction'06, and then started going to meetings after that to see if she and the club would be a good fit. After many months, Jessica finally became a member at the end of August 2006 and was inducted in October 2006.

Jessica is an avid collector of orchids and Lampe Bergers. When not involved with Zonta, she likes to target shoot at the Palmetto Indoor Range, maintain an organic garden, cook, dine out, volunteer, travel, read, attend stage productions, cross stitch, play Scrabble®, play piano, learn to quilt, entertain, solve puzzles, enjoy the company of friends, go out and about, and take advantage of all the great things to do in Savannah.

"What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity. These are but trifles, to be sure; but scattered along life's pathway, the good they do is inconceivable."

~ Joseph Addison
